The Traveler’s Guide to Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Tours & Tastings
It is located in the North Carolina Mountains, and it is an excitement you may not be aware of at this time. You can catch a tour of the massive Sierra Nevada Brewery. While you are there, you can even taste some of the famous brews. You can chill in the Taproom and even partake in a meal at the massive restraint. The restaurant contains 400 seats on the inside and a large outdoor dining area. It also has 23 different beer taps and menu that goes well with the beer selection. Not only can you tour the building and be entertained, but you can have a meal as well, making this location the full experience and a place that you can easily spend an entire day exploring.
In the center of the Taproom, you can find a 20-barrel pilot brew house. It is interesting because it supplies guests with rotating drafts that are only available at the restraint. Most of the year, guests can enjoy the lovely outdoor dining area. It typically comes with live music. If you check out the location on Saturday, live music is pretty much a guarantee. Once you finish dining, you can take a walk through the Beer Garden and enjoy the view. The Brewery is open for business from 10 in the morning until 5 in the evening on Monday through Saturday and also from noon until five on Sundays. If you are interested in visiting the restraint and the tap room you should know they are open Sunday thru Thursday from eleven in the morning until nine in the evening and from eleven in the morning until ten in the night on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you know you want to take a tour, but aren’t sure which one they have, or even what is offered, you’re in luck. Here is a quick summary of each of the extended tours, so you know what you are getting yourself into before you go.
The Brew house tour is free for anyone over the age of 12. However, it does require that you make reservations ahead of time. The journey takes about an hour and a half. The tour allows tourists to see the process for hops-to-brew. You can look inside the kettles, smell the hops, and even see the assembly line hard at work. The tour is ended with a testing that takes place near the fermenters. Of course, only individuals that are 21 years or older can take part in the trial.
The Beer Geek Tour is more in-depth and takes about three hours. This tour is going to cost nearly thirty dollars per person and reservations are required. The tour guides smaller groups, groups of six, through the brewery. This trip consists of history and ingredients before making its way to the production brew house. From here you can see the inside of the hop freezer and check out the cellar. Brews are sampled in the cellar straight from the tanks. The 20-barrel pilot brewery is the perfect location for ending the tour.
The IPA tour is a tour that takes about an hour and a half and is only for individuals that are 21 years of age or older. This trip costs about 25 dollars per person. You can check out the hop room, the brew house, and other areas of the brewery. You can also learn the difference between the different types of hops. You will leave the tour a little more educated about the process than you were when you arrived.
The final type of tour offered by the company is the self-guided tour. You don’t have to make reservations or pay for this trip. You can come and check out the visitor Corridor and see the kettles, bottling area, and multiple displays for free. You can also take a tour at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
